Wear Black on 1 July for a cause

"1st July 2005 - A BLACK DAY FOR COMMUTERS

We urge all S'poreans to wear Black on 1 July to register their displeasure at the public transport fare hike, and also ERP charges. We wear Black because mere words cannot express our disappointment. We have become speechless at this administration which time and again choose to ignore public feedback. We want to make our silence visible."

Heh, yeah. what we need to do is burn a couple of cars, chain ourselves to railings, pee on public property and stick chewing gum on every concievable surface of an MRT startion. And get arrested. Yeah.

And the prices will still be hiked up.

What amuses me is that while the gahmen doesn't allow demonstrations or any other sort of political naysay, they want to encourage youngsters to consider a career in politics. How does that work out?

Me, I'm content with no demonstrations or strikes. Nehmind if prices go up. Just got to work harder, earn more money, become more materialistic, neglect my children, foist them off on foreign maids, have them go astray and contribute to the social ills of Singapore. And then blame the gahmen. Because they increased my fare.

But to be fair, I WILL wear black on July 1. Don't know if anyone will notice though, because I wear black everyday, and I'm stuck in the office all day long.

Demonstrations are supposed to attract attention, yes? Its like terrorism. If nobody pays any mind, there's not much point. It's like bin Laden saying, "You American PIGS! Watch me kill this butterfly right here!"

Gosh, am I actually telling people to disturb public peace?

Sorry, Big Brudder, please don't arrest me and force me to shut down my LJ.

But SERIOUSLY. Does anybody really know why they're hiking up the price? I actually do trust them enough to assume there's a good reason. Then again, I also assume there are watch dogs to assure that the price hiking is not on whim.

Yes, I am a brainwashed PAP bot.

If I were a shareholder, I'd pretty much have my own reason to want the hike.

And who does the board listen to ? Yeap, me.

i'll wear black anyway, and i'll pass the message around. but we gotta make our cause known.
